I celebrated my 4th of July (yeah this post is a bit late) the British way; attending Wimbledon. It was so incredible. As a young girl I used to watch the matches with my family religiously. I was quite the tennis player back then, with dreams of playing on my high school team. Even though that dream didn't come true another one did! Never in a million years did I think I would get to attend a game in person. While most people que (that's British for stand in line) overnight for the best tickets Sima and I decided to go ghetto style. Our plan was to purchase return tickets, which are basically tickets that get returned at some point during the day by people that paid top dollar. Return tickets cost only 5 pounds and the proceeds go to charity. We first had to que to get into the grounds. We got to the grounds around 3ish. Forty five minutes and 15 pounds later we were inside. We then hiked up Henmann Hill (famous hill named after a player where people watch the games on a big screen TV), and got in line for return tickets. Five minutes later, Sima and I had tickets to court one. They were great seats! We really wanted centre court tickets but that que was way too long.

We got to watch a men's semi final doubles match. It was Britain vs. Netherlands. I had no idea who the players were but it didn't matter.
I was content watching the game and eating my strawberries and cream (the official food of Wimbeldon).
