I'm Officially Over It

By it, I mean the weather. Everyone warned me the weather in London would be bad. I got through December and sure there were a couple of days that I couldn't feel my fingers but I stuck them into some gloves and I was good to go. Then January rolled around and I figured the worst was behind me. For some reason everyone at work kept telling me to brace myself. I thought they were exaggerating and just trying to scare me. I mean, how bad could it be? Bad people, bad!

This entire week has been filled with nothing but dark grey skies, torrential rain, and horrible wind. Now, rain I can take, and wind I can manage, hello I grow up with those lovely Santa Ana's. But when rain and wind combine, that's a whole 'nother ball game that I wasn't prepared for nor was my umbrella this morning. I've never complained about my commute, in fact I've sang it praises to most of you. However, at 7:50 am, when it's dark outside and you're standing at the bus stop and the wind is wreaking havoc on your hair, your purse is getting drenched, and your umbrella decides to invert itself and serve no purpose, all you can think of is how how much you hate public transportation and you would give anything to be driving a car. I'm thinking at this point it can't get worse. Again, wrong! I get off the train and make my way to work. I walk down the same street I do everyday but today I get greeted with a giant wind storm and hail, which basically whips my entire body around and breaks my umbrella in the process. This wind was strong that I couldn't even move. It was like being stuck in some vortex. You'd think my co-workers who were walking with me would help me in someway. Oh no, they thought it would be better to stand their laughing their asses off instead. All I can say is by the time I made it to work I looked like I had been through the ringer. I was quite a sight!

Can I tell you how glad I am to be coming home to what I hope is sunny skies and not a raindrop in sight, cause the forecast here calls for another week of this crap! California, here I come.
